At the request of Kosciusko Police Chief R.J. Adams, the Kosciusko Board of Aldermen approved the purchase of a sniper rifle for the department during the May 1 board meeting.

– On Monday, James C. Erving, 60, was charged with disregard for traffic device, no proof of insurance and possession of liquor in a dry county on Highway 12 West by officer Jimmy Evans.

Fun in the sun at field day

Students at Greenlee Elementary School participated in Field Day activities May 4. The annual event boasted a game of toss, flag football, obstacle course, potato sack races and inflatables. Snow cones were also served during the day.

West Fire Department works five fires in April

The West Volunteer Fire Department has had a busy April with a total of five calls.
Club Greasy, located on Emory Road, was the first call of the month on April 18.
The WVFD arrived at the scene, where the structure was fully involved and were assisted by Longbranch Volunteer Fire Department.
