Armed robbery suspect nabbed; two others charged in crime
Attala County Sheriff William Lee said the community’s response to an armed robbery suspect rendering led to the arrest of three people Wednesday, Dec. 9.
Hillard Antonio “Tony” Osborne, 18, of Kosciusko, James “Jay” Harthcock, 18 of Kosciusko, and Chelsea B. Norwood, 17, of Ethel, have been charged with armed robbery.
Virginia Pettie and her young grandchild were held at knifepoint at her home in the Four Corners community on Nov. 16 for about 30 minutes.
Lee said Osborne gained entry by inquiring about a storage unit that was available for rent.
Lee added Osborne’s photo was shown with others and he was identified as the robber by Pettie. The ACSD has not recovered the stolen gun but has found some old coins that were taken.
Although Harthcock and Norwood never left the 1999 red Pontiac Grand AM, they are being charged as armed robbers in accordance with law, Lee said.
Lee again thanked the community for their help in the arrest.
Investigator Zelie Shaw was in charge of the investigation.
All three are in the Attala County Jail as of Tuesday afternoon. They were expected to make their first court appearance on Wednesday.
