A Holmes County man wanted in a Lexington shooting turned himself into authorities early this morning, officials said.

Charles Moore, 27, was spotted in the McAdams area on Thursday afternoon and the Attala County Sheriff’s Department assisted in the search.

Sheriff William Lee said his department received a call that Moore was on Attala County Road 4167 and searched in Attala County for about three hours.

Moore is allegedly fired gunshots into mobile home Friday night, hitting Darrell Blair in the head.

Blair, 21, was transported to University Medical Center in Jackson and as of Thursday night was on life support.

Moore will be charged with aggravated assault and shooting into an occupied dwelling.

Lee said their search was disbanded after U.S. marshals and others moved back into Holmes County in the West area.

Along with Lee, ACSD officers assisting in the search were Randy Blakely, Zellie Shaw, Tim Nail, James Faulkner, Adam Jones and David Bain.
