How ’bout them Bulldogs!

To borrow a line from Commercial Appeal Sports Reporter Ron Higgins, “Hey Ole Miss! What's in your wallet? Probably not a Capital One Bowl bid.”

In case you haven’t heard, the Mississippi State Bulldogs took home the beloved Egg Bowl Trophy on Saturday with a final score of 41-27 over the No. 20 ranked “School up North.”

All my Twitter and Facebook friends were going all bananas over the win for the most part – I do have a few Rebels lurking around.

This was the cutest thing I have found so far. Thanks Alysha!

Sing this to the tune of “Winter Wonderland:”

Cowbells ring are you listening?

Down the field, Dixon's sprinting!

A beautiful sight. Rebels crying last night.

Walking with the trophy in our hand!

Black Friday

But before the Egg Bowl, there was Black Friday shopping. One of the perks of my job is that I have to be up early to take photos for the paper so I might as well shop!

At 3 a.m., I wake up to my blinking Blackberry and I find that people in Kosciusko are already taking advantage of the store being open for 24 hours.

I get my dear husband up and off we go. He wanted a laptop and truthfully, he likes Black Friday shopping. He’s all about getting a deal.

We stood in line for about an hour and were two of 25 people to get the $298 HP laptop.

There were a few things on my list I didn’t get. The $5 skateboards for my cousins and the Circut cartridges that were no where to be found. There were later found and I was able to get one on Saturday late.

Championship games

State Championship football will be played on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Here are my picks: 1A, Durant over Mt. Olive; 2A, Bassfield over Ackerman; 3A, Aberdeen over Tylertown; 4A, St. Stanislaus over Lafayette County; 5A, West Point over Wayne County; and South Panola over Oak Grove.
