Small business training offered in Kosciusko

KOSCIUSKO — Are you ready to be part of an elite group of entrepreneurs who are realizing their dreams of small business ownership?  

Do you want to jump start an idea or give your current business that needed boost?  If so, you can’t afford to miss this training opportunity coming to Kosciusko.

The six-week course, called Operation JumpStart: First Step, is a nationally-recognized, highly successful training model delivered to individuals considering starting or expanding a small business.  

The Operation JumpStart: First Step curriculum teaches participants essential small business planning and preparation skills with practical hands-on training.  

The program, delivered Tuesday and Thursday evenings for six weeks, will be offered April 2 through May 9 at the Kosciusko Attala Development Office at 101 North Natchez in Kosciusko.  

Applications are required and can be obtained from the KADC office by calling the office at 662-289-2981 or from the KADC web site at www.kadcorp.org.

Operation JumpStart: First Step is provided at a nominal fee of $85 to participants.

Supporting partners include Holmes Community College and the Mississippi Development Authority’s Entrepreneur Center. The six-week small business training course is open to the public.

Steve Zea President of the Kosciusko Attala Development Corporation said, “This program allows individuals to start by exploring a business idea and culminates in a business feasibility plan. This program will assist individuals wanting to start or grow a business. It provides the necessary technical assistance and explores topics such as legal structure, accounting, insurance, marketing and lending”.

 If you would like to be considered for Operation JumpStart and/or would like more information, contact the KADC staff  at the KADC office located at 101 North Natchez Street in Kosciusko office by no later than March 29.

    Helping Hands Mother’s Day luncheon fundraiser will be held May 10, 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Williamsville Baptist Church. Tickets are $10. There will be second time around jewelry, devotional books, purses and a silent auction.
