JA schedules Denim, Diamonds for charity event

Tickets are on sale now for Junior Auxiliary’s Denim and Diamonds Charity Event at the Attala County Coliseum on February 13, 2010 featuring Crossin Dixon.

Tickets may be purchased from any Junior Auxiliary member for $35 each for admittance to the coliseum at 6:30 p.m. Activities will include presentation of the Royal Court, a chance to participate in the silent auction, a ticket for the Draw Down, and a meal. Dancing to the music of Crossin Dixon will begin at 9 p.m.

Dress for the evening .will be fitting for the denim and diamonds theme. Women may feel free to wear denim with a hint of sparkle in a blouse. Men may wear denim with a collared shirt.

Crossin Dixon will begin playing at 9 p.m. For those solely interested in hearing the band and dancing there will be a separate ticket available that will ONLY allow admittance for the entertainment portion of the evening. These tickets will not go on sale until 9 p.m. on Feb. 13 and can ONLY be purchased at the door for $20 per ticket. There will be a limited number of these tickets sold.

Children 18 and under must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Junior Auxiliary does not condone the use of alcohol.

    Ricky Cole, executive director of the Mississippi Democratic Party, will meet with Democrats and others Saturday at 9 a.m. at the Bobcat Building on Tipton Street to explain the rules of voting.

  • Attala schools list registration dates, proofs

    Pre-registration for Pre-K and Kindergarten students of Greenlee and Long Creek Elementary Schools will be held Feb. 6-27, 9 a.m.-2 p.m. in the office at each school.
    Pre-K students now enrolled at either school will not need to register for Kindergarten.

    The 1982 graduating class of Ethel High School is hosting its 30-year anniversary reunion and is inviting the classes of 1978, 1979, 1980, and 1981 to join them. The event is planned for Memorial Day weekend, May 25-27.
