Two classes aim to help job seekers

KOSCIUSKO — Potential job seekers have two more opportunities to get prepared for the Mid-Mississippi Job Fair on February 4 and February 11.

Holmes Community College Attala Education Center has two sessions on employability skills training to help job seekers to improve their chances of getting gainful employment.

They are:

–Appearance and dress makes the first impression, do you make a “good” one?  will be Monday, February 4.

–Resumes market skills and accomplishments, interviews SELL you! is planned for Monday, February 11.

Angela Griffin, a career coach, will be the instructor.

All classes will be held at the Attala Education Center on Highway 12 and the time has been set from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The sessions are free and those wishing to participate are asked to register with the ed center at 290-0808.

The job fair will be held on Thursday, February 14, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Attala County Coliseum.

    All basketball semi pro leagues, church teams and high school teams are invited to participate in a tournament planned May 18, 10 a.m. until, at the Oprah Winfrey Boys & Girls Club on Knox Road in Kosciusko.

  • Planning meeting for school reunion Saturday

    A planning meeting for the New Garden School and Community reunion will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at Gin and Kee’s Restaurant in McAdams.

  • Mother’s Day luncheon May 10

    Helping Hands Mother’s Day luncheon fundraiser will be held May 10, 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Williamsville Baptist Church. Tickets are $10. There will be second time around jewelry, devotional books, purses and a silent auction.
