KOSCIUSKO —
Coming in September, The Star-Herald will recognize working women of Central Mississippi with the selection of “Woman of the Year” for 2012.
Nominations for the title are being asked. If you know a woman whom you think is deserving of the title contact The Star-Herald.
The 2011 winner Kim Williams was chosen for her community involvement including her position on the Kosciusko School Board and her role at the Oprah Winfrey Boys & Girls Club. She is also a working mother and wife.
Send nominations with brief comments on why you think she qualifies for the honor. Include your name and telephone number with your submission and mail to The Star-Herald, 207 N. Madison St., Kosciusko, MS 39090, or email editor@starherald.net.
Nominations should be submitted by September 7.

New Garden reunion Saturday, Sunday
New Garden School and community reunion will be held Saturday and Sunday at New Garden M.B. Church. Activities will begin Saturday at 10 a.m. and a memorial service will be held Sunday at 11 a.m. at the church.

Mother’s Day luncheon May 10
Helping Hands Mother’s Day luncheon fundraiser will be held May 10, 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Williamsville Baptist Church. Tickets are $10. There will be second time around jewelry, devotional books, purses and a silent auction.
