Meeting with Brandon Presley Tuesday

The Star-Herald

KOSCIUSKO — Brandon Presley, Northern District Public Service Commissioner, continues a series of meetings across the Northern District to hear directly from ratepayers.

A Community Meeting in Kosciusko will be held on Tuesday, February 26, at the Attala County Courthouse from 6-7 p.m.  This meeting is free, and the public is invited to attend.

“I want to give people in all communities an opportunity to speak up and share their concerns with me personally about high utility rates and service, and how that affects their lives and businesses,” Presley said. “I also want to provide a forum where I can speak directly to the public about the important issues facing the PSC today and the major reforms I believe are necessary.”

In addition to updating the public on current issues before the PSC, Presley plans to discuss his efforts to bring greater broadband access to North Mississippi, his “Ratepayers’ Bill of Rights”; updates on ‘Zap the Gap’; PSC satellite offices; and financial assistance programs available to low-income ratepayers.  He will also discuss updates on the No Call Law and other consumer related topics that affect Mississippians and our economic climate.

Since taking office in January of 2008, Presley has been a strong advocate for reform of the PSC and consumer protection issues.
