MJMH reduces staff by more than 30

Montfort Jones Memorial Hospital announced Wednesday an expense reduction which will eliminate more than $2 million in operating expenses over the next years. The move is an effort to address the hospital's worsening financial condition.

The expense reduction will reduce labor expenses by 22 percent, resulting in the elimination of 35.5 positions and the closing of the Geriatric Psychiatric Unit, known as the Senior Care Unit, and the Intensive Outpatient Program, an outpatient geri-psych service.
