KOSCIUSKO —
Dr. and Mrs. Jeffrey Nelson Cook of Meridian, announce the engagement of their daughter, Lacey Elizabeth Cook, to Andrew Gunter Cain, son of the late Michael Steele, Mrs. Nell Steele of Kosciusko and Richard Cain of Ackerman.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Cecil B. Matheney of Jackson, and the late Dr. and Mrs. Ferris E. Cook of San Antonio, TX. The prospective bridegroom is the grandson of the late Col. and Mrs. Lynn Steele of Montgomery, AL and the late Mr. and Mrs. Frank Gowan of McAdams and the late Mr. and Mrs. Troy Cain of Sallis.
Miss Cook graduated as salutatorian from Lamar School in 2003. She obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in English with minors in Studio Art and Classical Studies from Millsaps College where she was a Magna Cum Laude graduate in 2007.
While at Millsaps, Miss Cook served as an active member of Kappa Delta Sorority, was elected Kappa Alpha Rose, and was a member of eight academic honoraries, including Phi Beta Kappa. She is currently employed by VIP Jackson Magazine.
Mr. Cain is a 2002 honors graduate of Kosciusko High School. He received his Bachelor of Science from Millsaps College where he served as president of Alpha Epsilon Delta, the Pre-Medical honorary, and vice president of Beta Beta Beta, the Biology honorary. He is currently pursuing a Doctorate of Medicine at the University of Mississippi Medical Center.
The couple will exchange vows on July 17, 2010 at 7 p.m. at The South in Jackson with reception to follow.
