KOSCIUSKO —
Lane and Janice Townsend of Kosciusko announce the engagement and upcoming marriage of their son, Kenneth Lane Townsend, to Ann Rachel Phelps, daughter of Diane and Doug Phelps of Hastings, Nebraska.
An October 16th wedding is being planned to take place at Marquand Chapel at Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut.
Ann is the granddaughter of Bev Freeman and the late Dwayne Freeman and Mary Lee Phelps and the late Ralph Phelps of Hastings, Nebraska.
Kenneth is the grandson of the late Leslie and Edith Camburn of Memphis, Tennessee, and Kate Townsend of Kosciusko and the late Ralph Townsend.
Ann is a 2003 graduate of Hastings High School. In 2007, she earned her B.A. degree from Hastings College in Theology and the Arts (minoring in Education Policy) and in 2009, she earned her M.A. in Religion from Yale Divinity School and Institute of Sacred Music in New Haven, Connecticut. Her employment includes Research Fellow at Yale University during the academic year, Assistant Master of Yale Summer Session and a liturgical musician in Connecticut.
Kenneth is a 2000 graduate of Kosciusko High School. In 2004, he earned his B.A. in English and Political Science from Millsaps College in Jackson. In 2006, he earned his MPhil in Political Theory from Oxford University in Oxford, England in the United Kingdom as a Rhodes Scholar.
He is currently earning a J.D. from Yale Law School and an M.A. from Yale Divinity School, which he plans to complete in May of 2012. Prior to going to Yale, he taught ethics and political theory at the University of Mississippi and the past four summers he has worked with the Lott Leadership Institute program at Ole Miss in South Africa, South Korea and Ecuador.
