KOSCIUSKO — The 101st Central Mississipp Fair came to a close on Saturday night with rides shutting down at midnight. Throughout the week there were exhibits, a pageant, sports challenge, musical entertainment including the state finals of the Colgate Country Showdown and a livestock show. Kosciusko-Attala Development Corporation Vice President and CMF organizer Greg Cooper said he would like to thank all the volunteers for making this year a success for the 7,500 who attended the festivities.

At Ethel High School, valedictorian of the class is Margaret Hunt, and Linda Breazeale, salutatorian. At McAdams High School, valedictorian is William Ellington, and salutatorian is Linda Allen. At McCool Grammar School, Cynthia Rainey is valedictorian, and Delores Braswell, salutatorian. Barnes High School, with a tie, has two valedictorians. They are Karleen Bailey and Melba Moore. Linda Bell is salutatorian. At Sallis High School, valedictorian is Jean Carol Aldy and salutatorian is Timmy Gray.
