Holmes County, including the city of Durant, is one of nine counties approved today for federal disaster Public Assistance, according to Gov. Phil Bryant's office. 

The Kosicusko Police department has arrested two people in relation to multiple burglaries of storage units in the city.

Ethel High School Principal Jim Wood has submitted his resignation after accepting a position at Choctaw County High School in Ackerman.

Wood said he decided to leave in order to spend more time with his family.

The students, teachers and administrators of Kosciusko Lower Elementary took last Friday off from their normal routine to enjoy their annual field day.

KSD Board to meet

The Kosciusko Board of Trustees will meet in special session tonight at 6:30 p.m. at the district's administration building. 

The only item listed on the notice is a personnel item, however no other information behind the purpose of the meeting as been released.
