Kelly Causey, 48, was named head football coach for the Kosciusko Whippets last Thursday night. Causey, who came from Cleveland High School where he had been the head coach since 2011, compiled a 52-27 mark that included a 13-2 season in 2014 and a 10-4 mark in 2011.

The Kosciusko Whippets (17-7, 4-4) and Lady Whippets (15-10, 5-4) both went 1-1 on the week with the Whippets defeating Houston 70-50 and falling to Noxubee 50-49 while the Lady Whippets lost to Houston 50-36 and defeated Noxubee 54-25.
Kosciusko High School has named its new head football coach; dipping into Bolivar county with the hire of Cleveland High School’s Kelly Causey. The hiring was approved during Thursday night’s special called meeting of the Kosciusko Board of Trustees.
The Kosciusko Whippets and Lady Whippets both dropped contests to Louisville last week but rebounded nicely with wins over Caledonia on Friday night. The Whippets are now 17-6 overall and 4-3 in Region 4-4A play while the Lady Whippets are 14-9 overall and 4-3 as well.
