KOSCIUSKO —
Some time ago I began to retrace my ancestors and discovered I am a great-great-grandson of George Christopher Pee. He was a first sergeant in the 4th Mississippi Infantry Co. B. He fought in the Civil War at the Battle of Fort Donoldson, was captured and went to Camp Morton in Indiana as a prisoner of war.
One hundred fifty years ago he went to Grenada to train for battle. What I wanted to know – maybe someone can tell me if he was a member of a group called the Attala Yellow Jackets.
If anyone has any information regarding this and/or what happened to him after the War Between the States, please feel free to let me know. I will welcome any information on George Christopher Pee.

My buddy and I, of 20-plus years of fishing, were returning from a fishing trip in Louisiana. Fishing was grand! It was my turn to pay for fuel.

Prayer for the return of sanity
Time and money, Mississippi seems to have it to blow. Since our state has been taken over by Tea Party Republicans nothing has been done in this state to improve the economy. These people have spent our time and our money on issues that are not within the realm of our state government.

Kosy schools raise funds for ill children
The Kosciusko School District has been known for its success academically and on the athletic field, but this past week, the students at Kosciusko School District proved they had something greater than intelligence and athletic ablitity.

On behalf of the Oprah Winfrey Boys and Girls Club, I would like to thank everyone who made the sixth annual C.A.R.E..(Children Are the Reason for Excellence) Banquet a success! We have an extremely hard-working and dedicated board and along with our capable staff and talented club members the evening was enjoyed by over 300 people.
