I am so disgusted with our legal system regarding child battery/molestation sentences. Someone needs to tell the public why Mr. Norwood was allowed to plead down to a lesser offense.
Any adult who has any sexual conduct with a minor should be sentenced to life without parole, period. It is well documented that child molesters never stop molesting our young.
For that reason alone, they should be taken off the streets for the duration of their lives.
Some would argue that eight years prison plus registering as a sex offender is enough for a 65 year old man. I beg to differ. Our law enforcement officials and area judges should explain to us why sex offenders, specifically child molesters, are allowed to plead down when caught. I would rather have a thief get a light sentence than any adult who so damages our children.
