KOSCIUSKO — On July 3, 2010 we lost our home to a fire. We called 911 at 4:30 p.m. I would like to thank the volunteer fire departments who responded. They were Attala, Zama, Friendship, Carmack and Sallis.

The firefighters fought long and hard and at 10:30 p.m. the fire was out. After seeing these men at work we should praise God for them each day.

I now have a new respect for firefighters. Our home was a total loss. But these men gave all their effort to save it.

I would also like to thank all of our Christian friends and neighbors and churches for their help to get us back on our feet.

Searching for info on George Christopher Pee
Some time ago I began to retrace my ancestors and discovered I am a great-great-grandson of George Christopher Pee. He was a first sergeant in the 4th Mississippi Infantry Co. B. He fought in the Civil War at the Battle of Fort Donoldson, was captured and went to Camp Morton in Indiana as a prisoner of war.
