Crime victims thankful for ACSD

KOSCIUSKO — Our family recently had the unpleasant experience of being victims of theft in our home. Around 10 p.m., after talking with a friend, we realized we had been targeted by the same woman. We called the Sheriff’s office and were encouraged to come on in that night to file a report. Upon our 11 p.m. arrival, we were greeted by jailer Stan Murphy and officer Jerry Erving. With their help, statements were filed and a key piece of evidence was obtained.

The next day, investigator Randy Blakely took over. Within hours, three items were recovered and two more located in a nearby town. We can not praise the quick thinking and investigative skills of these men enough. Our items had only been missing one day, but were well on their way to being liquidated.

We also want to praise the efforts of our three local, reputable jewelry stores, Coghlan’s, Gemday and Patterson’s. Each one took detailed descriptions of our missing items. One looked up pictures on the Internet for identification, and one drew pictures of the items and even offered to use their copier to make flyers to fax and distribute in neighboring towns! After the story came out, one even called to see if all the items were recovered or whether they should still be looking for them. That’s what I call going above and beyond! Thank you all for your concern and help.

We want to sincerely thank Sheriff Tim Nail and his staff for their help in recovering our property. I believe William Lee, upon hearing this story, would say, “Well, that’s what I expect  ’em to do.” We loved William and miss him terribly. We believe, however, that our county is in good hands under the leadership of Sheriff Nail and the men and women who make up the Attala County Sheriff’s Department.

We pray God’s blessings and protection on each of you as you work around the clock to protect the citizens of Attala County.

Gratefully,

Wes and Pam Breazeale

  • Prayer for the return of sanity

Time and money, Mississippi seems to have it to blow.  Since our state has been taken over by Tea Party Republicans nothing has been done in this state to improve the economy.  These people have spent our time and our money on issues that are not within the realm of our state government.
