First off let me say if you didn’t get a chance to come out Saturday to the Red, White and Blue Benefit at the veterans home you missed a great day of food, fun and fellowship. There is several people who need to be recognized for their efforts in making this happen.
A big special Thank You to Jimmy and Reba Hodge for organizing the event. Without them this would have not come together.
The car show turned out great I believe there was around 60-70 cars.
Thanks to the Lions Club for cooking the chicken. There were other volunteers who helped and I thank you also. Last but not least Thanks to Sheri Roebuck and her staff for all of the hard work that they did also.
If you have not been out to our veterans home, I encourage you to stop by and visit and take the time to Thank a veteran for their services for without them we would not be able to do these great things.

Thanks expressed for support of Burchfield benefit
Doty Springs Baptist Church would like to express our sincere gratitude to all who helped with the recent Wayne Burchfield benefit. Proceeds will go toward the medical expenses of Mr. Burchfield, who is a stroke victim.

Texans thankful for Kosciusko kindness
My buddy and I, of 20-plus years of fishing, were returning from a fishing trip in Louisiana. Fishing was grand! It was my turn to pay for fuel.

Prayer for the return of sanity
Time and money, Mississippi seems to have it to blow. Since our state has been taken over by Tea Party Republicans nothing has been done in this state to improve the economy. These people have spent our time and our money on issues that are not within the realm of our state government.

In 1890 a group of investors saw the necessity for a bank to meet the needs of the people and businesses of Kosciusko and Attala County. Merchants and Farmers Bank was thus established and for 123 years it has met those needs. Kosy schools raise funds for ill children
The Kosciusko School District has been known for its success academically and on the athletic field, but this past week, the students at Kosciusko School District proved they had something greater than intelligence and athletic ablitity.

On behalf of the Oprah Winfrey Boys and Girls Club, I would like to thank everyone who made the sixth annual C.A.R.E..(Children Are the Reason for Excellence) Banquet a success! We have an extremely hard-working and dedicated board and along with our capable staff and talented club members the evening was enjoyed by over 300 people.
