KOSCIUSKO —
A Sallis man remains in critical condition at University Medical Center in Jackson after an early Tuesday morning stabbing.
After receiving a 911 call, the Attala County Sheriff’s Department was dispatched to the Sallis area, where they found Christopher Harris had been stabbed in the abdomen and also had a neck laceration.
Shortly thereafter, Sheriff Tim Nail said Adam Love, 18, of Sallis was taken into custody and has been charged with aggravated assault.
Love remains in Attala County Jail. No bond has been set.
Nail said the department continues to investigate the incident.
Burglar caught
Several burglaries during the week of November 5 have led to the arrest of a Columbus man.
Nail said Devion Bankhead, 19, had been staying in Attala County with relatives and has been charged with three counts of burglary and one count of auto burglary.
On Attala County Road 1135, a truck was broken into and cash, credit cards an miscellaneous items were taken. Also on that road, the home of Jeffrey Dean was burglarized. An iPad and cash were taken.
The remaining burglaries were on Attala County Road 1144. The mobile home of Kendria Brown was broken into and cash was taken. Also, the home of Yolanda Gant was burglarized and jewelry and cash were taken.
The iPad was recovered and a total of about $500 was taken.
