KOSCIUSKO — After two years, the Attala County Sheriff’s Department has  no new leads into the disappearance of a local businesswoman.

Vickie Ellington, owner of Attala Fitness and Tanning and pharmacist, was last seen at  the Louisville Wal-Mart Supercenter on Highway 25 in Winston County, where she had planned to meet someone on January 27, 2011.

Her vehicle was found in the supercenter’s parking lot.

Attala County Sheriff Tim Nail said his department has investigated all the tips and leads in the case.

“We’ve hit a dead end,” he said. “It’s like she just vanished.”

Nail said the case remains open and  that the Mississippi Bureau of Investigations is also working on the case.

At the time of her disappearance, the ACSD with the assistance of other agencies searched the grounds surrounding her home on Attala County Road 5216. Also, video footage from the Walmart in Louisville was reviewed and showed that Ellington left her vehicle and walked toward the McDonald’s  nearby.

A Facebook page “Have you seen Vickie Ellington?” remains active. If you have any information on the case, call 289-5556.
