Lawrence, Price qualify for Ward 1 alderman race
A pair of Ward 1 residents in Kosciusko have qualified for the special election to fill the late Martha Kate Lawrence's position.
Lawrence's husband and former Attala County Sheriff Marvin "Pop"Lawrence has thrown his name in the ring along with local business person Jay Price.
The Kosciusko Mayor and Board of Alderman set the special election for March 16 during the Tuesday, Feb. 2, board meeting. Martha Kate passed away recently after a battle with cancer.
