KOSCIUSKO —
The more than 1,200 customers of the Sallis Post Office have received a Post Plan Customer Survey listing the options that the Postal Service is considering for the operation of the Sallis post office.
Customers are urged by Sallis Postmaster Sara J. Gowan to review the survey and choose the alternative most preferred in the list.
The alternatives listed in the survey include: keep the post office open, but with realigned weekday window service hours; discontinuing the post office and providing roadside mailbox delivery; find a suitable alternative location operated by a contractor; provide P.O. Box service via another nearby post office and relocate P.O. Box delivery to that post office.
A public meeting is being scheduled which will enable the Postal Service to get input and opinions from the community in regards to the post office.
The meeting will be held Tuesday, March 5, at 6:30 p.m. at the Sallis Baptist Church Family Life Center which is located in the old Sallis School building, 2010 Robertson St. in Sallis.
