Flower enthusiasts are urged to select their prettiest potted and blooming plants along with horticulture specimens for exhibit at the flower show held in conjunction with the Central Mississippi Fair.
Entries should be taken to the Attala County Coliseum, 7:30- 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 19. Following judging in the afternoon they are to remain on exhibit until Saturday, Aug. 22, and be removed 7-9 a.m.
Agape Flowers and Gifts is sponsoring the flower show.
First, second, third and honorable mention ribbons will be awarded in the horticulture class and also in the junior horticulture division.
In the art show, there will an adult division, 18 years and older; youth, pre-school/kindergarten through 12th grade.
Nancy Duran serves as chairman.
Entries will be received at the coliseum on Monday, Aug. 17, 3-89 p.m. and remain for viewing through Friday. They must be removed 7-9 a.m. Saturday.
Amy Lindsay is chairman of the photography show which is sponsored by Branning Photography.
All entrants in adult and youth classes must be amateurs. Awards will be made for best of show, creativity, and fair favorite.
Barry Patton is chairman of Fin, Horn and Feather Show with Dungan, CPA the sponsor.
There will be classes for deer racks, fish, and turkey beards. Best of show will be chosen in each youth and adult class. Blue, red, white and yellow ribbons will be awarded to adult and youth classes in each of the lots.
In the youth division an overall rosette and $10 cash will be awarded to the most outstanding exhibit in the following areas: agri-business, culinary arts, entomology, environmental, fashion design, creative arts, horticulture, safety and health.
