Scam targeting residents

KOSCIUSKO — Attala County Sheriff Tim Nail wants the community to be aware of a telephone scam that is targeting residents.

Nail said the caller claims to be FBI and wants to verify personal information such as a Social Security number and banking information so that the resident can receive lottery winnings.

“The FBI would not be calling you for that type of information,”  Nail said.

He stressed that residents should not give personal information over the phone to an unknown caller.

For more information, call 289-5556.
