Attala County Sheriff Tim Nail said Markeith Fleming has been charged with the murder of Christopher Graham and remains in Attala County Jail Tuesday. Derrick Hannah is in critical condition at University Medical Center in Jackson.
Nail said the department was alerted to the shooting on Youth Center Road (Attala County Road 4202) just before noon, where Graham was pronounced dead at the scene.
Four hours was spent working the crime scene by the sheriff’s department, Mississippi Bureau of Investigations and the Mississippi Crime Lab.
Fleming, 21, of Sallis, turned himself into authorities hours after the shooting.
Nail said more charges are pending and an assault rifle was used in the crime. Fleming is expected to have his initial court appearence Wednesday.
