KOSCIUSKO —
Long time Ward 4 Kosciusko Alderman John Sullivan said he will not be seeking re-election.
During the February 5 mayor and board of aldermen meeting, Sullivan said he decided it was best that he focus on his health.
Ward 4 residents Jeffery Woods and Earl Kern have qualified to run for the alderman seat. Kern ran for the seat in 2009 and Woods is currently a member of the Kosciusko City School Board.
Mayor Jimmy Cockroft and Aldermen Marvin “Pop” Lawrence, Henry Daniel, Tim Kyle and Robert Ellis have all qualified for the upcoming city election.
Those wishing to run for election have until March 8. The election will be May 7.
