Former intern back in full-time role at newspaper

KOSCIUSKO — Former Star-Herald News Intern Matthew Breazeale has recently taken on a full-time position with the paper in advertising sales.

“We are glad to have Matthew back with us,” General Manager Cindi Compton said. “He is familiar with area and is eager and ready to help our businesses in Attala and Holmes Counties.”

“I am glad to be back in Kosciusko and I am ready serve the people in our area.”

A recent graduate of Delta State University with bachelor of arts in journalism, Breazeale spent some time as a staff writer with The Boliver Commercial before accepting his current position.

While at DSU, Breazeale was an active member of The Delta Statement, where he served as a staff writer and advertising sales representative. He also tutored junior high and foreign exchange students.

During a previous stint at The Star-Herald, Breazeale was awarded a second place along with managing editor Leslie Dees for best planned series of stories. The series dealt with cancer survivors.  Breazeale is a 2004 graduate of Kosciusko High School and attended Holmes Community College.
