Participants sought for Halloween costume; face painting to be offered

KOSCIUSKO — Children, ages 12 and under, are being sought to show off their Halloween costumes during a contest held in conjunction with The Star-Herald’s annual Safety Parade on Wednesday, October 31.

Both events are aimed strictly for children and will take place on the Historic Downtown Square.

Trick or treating will be from 3:30 to 5 p.m. at participating merchants.

The costume contest will be at 4:30 p.m. at the gazebo by Tyler, King and Ryder.

Cash prizes will be awarded to the first place winners in the age categories  0-3, 4-6 and 7-12.

A runner up will also be chosen and will be awarded a Halloween gift.

Participants will be selected by a panel of judges and must be in full Halloween costume.

There is no fee to register to participate.

A registration form can be found in this week’s edition of The Star-Herald on page C4.

Participants can register for the event the day of the Safety Parade at the gazebo from 3:30-4 p.m.
