KOSCIUSKO —
Annual activities celebrating the life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. will begin on Saturday with the 15th Annual Image Award Banquet at the Kosciusko High School Commons.
The MLK Commemoration Committee will honor a community member for pastoral leadership.
A social time has been set for 6:30 p.m. with the program following at 7 p.m.
Tickets are $20 and a table of six can be purchased for $110.
The birthday celebration and prayer service will be held on Monday, beginning at 1 p.m.
The Rev. Lee Carson, pastor of First Baptist Church (Jackson Street) will lead the prayer service at City Hall. The birthday celebration will be at 2 p.m. at the Kosciusko Junior High Auditorium with the Rev. Antonio Patterson as the keynote speaker.
The celebration is usually held in the morning but was changed due to the Presidential Inauguration of Barack Obama.
Activities will conclude with the Middle Mississippi Inaugural Ball at the Oprah Winfrey Boys & Girls Club at 6 p.m.
Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 youth, ages 5-17.
