Peteet to remain at helm of E9ll; dispatcher sought

KOSCIUSKO — Attala County Emergency Management Director Danny Townsend said the Kosciusko/Attala E911 committee had approved to retain current E911 Coordinator Liz Peteet in her position.

Applications had been taken for the position when the joint city/county E911 reconfigured this summer.

At the request of Townsend, the board approved to hire another full-time dispatcher so that two dispatchers will be on duty at all times.

The City of Kosciusko and Attala County agreed to form a committee to make decisions on department.

At the request of Kosciusko Police Chief R.J. Adams, the aldermen agreed to sell several seized weapons to Stewart’s Gun and Pawn Shop in Kosciusko for $1,000. Funds will be placed in the drug forfeiture fund.

The board approved the following:

–Hire Aaron Ashcraft in the parks and recreation department.

–Cody Arrington as a volunteer firefighter.

–Change order on the Strand Project to include additional roof in the amount of $2,200.

–Payment to Historic Renovations of Yazoo in the amount of $60,085 for work on The Strand.

–Payment to Belinda Stewart Architects in the amount of $2,757.87.

–Payment to Suncoast Infrastructure, Inc., in the amount of $30,511.70.

–Payment to Gardner Engineering in the amount of $13,032.50 for work on the community development block grant project.

–Payment to Sample, Hicks and Associates in the amount of $7,125 for work on the CDBG grant.  

–Payments to WGK Engineers and Surveyors in the amounts of $7,089 and $115.15.

–Payment to Arthur L. Cook, AIA for $2,500 for aiding in the drawing of proposed grant through USDA.

–Engineering agreement with Gardner Engineering for the airport project.

–Payments to Gardner Engineering in the amount of $4,770 and Columbus Fence Company in the amount of $12,911.41 for work at the airport.

–City Clerk Hart Pettit to attend the Winter Municipal Clerk Conference in Jackson December 13.

–Minutes from the October 16 meeting.

–Three days was given to the Lillie Mae Collins Estate to clean the property at 225 Cannonade Street at the request of the estate. The uncleaned property hearing for 110 West Haven Drive was dismissed since the property had been cleaned.
