Veterans honored for service

Bi-annual Aisle of Honor ceremony attended by hundreds

KOSCIUSKO — Veterans were honored for their service to their country Monday at the Attala County Coliseum for the bi-annual Aisle of Honor ceremony.  Hundreds, shown above, came out to hear Major Gen. Catherine S. Lutz, assistant  adjutant general in the Mississippi National Guard.  Lutz spoke of the sacrifices veterans  had made and encouraged others to make that kind of commitment by joining the armed forces. The event is usually held at Kosciusko’s Parkway Cemetery where approximately 300 flags fly but due to the damp weather it was moved to the coliseum.  Others participating in the event were: Mississippi Army National Guard, John Michael Edwards , Lola Cagle and singing partner, Kosciusko Mayor Jimmy Cockroft,  James Foster, Sheri Roebuck and Les Ferguson.
