WEIR —
Eupora used touchdown runs of 18 yards by Deshawn Starks and 13 yards by Vandy Smith to turn back a Weir comeback attempt on the way to a 40-14 win on Thursday night at Marion Kelley Field.
Eupora jumped out to a 24-0 lead, only to have Weir use a prolific passing attack to cu the Eagles advantage to 24-14.
The first Weir touchdown came on a 1-yard run by Jimarrian Woodard late in the first half that was set up by a 35-yard pass from J.R. Hall to Rashad Carter.
The Lions cut it to 24-14 with 5:23 left in the third quarter on its first possession of the second half when Hall hit Carter with a 50-yard scoring strike. Woodard ran in the two-point conversion.
