KOSCIUSKO —
The schedule is light in Region 3-1A this week, with only three games scheduled and only one of them being a region match-up.
Six of the league's 10 teams — French Camp, South Leake, Edinburg, Nanih Waiya, Weir and Ethel — have an open date this week, while West Oktibbeha pays a visit to arch-rival East Oktibbeha in a league contest.
Noxapater holds the league lead with a 1-0 record following last week's 53-0 win over Ethel, while the Tigers are 0-1 and the rest have yet to play a Region 3-1A contest.
Noxapater, currently 1-1 overall, plays host to Class 2A Pelahatchie this week while 0-1 Thomastown visits Class 2A Pisgah, which is 2-0 on the season.
Three Region 3-1A teams are ranked in the Top 15 of MHSAA Class 1A by the Mississippi Prep sports Source. Nanih Waiya is No. 5, French Camp No. 7 and West Oktibbeha No. 12. Weir and Noxapater are listed as teams to watch.
