KOSCIUSKO —
There was a change to the July 19 edition of The Star-Herald that might have gone un-noticed to its weekly readers.
The edition in question was printed at The Clarion-Ledger in Jackson July 17 due to closing of the presses at The Meridian Star, a sister Community Newspaper Holdings Inc. paper.
The Star-Herald will continue to head to the presses on Tuesday but just a few hours earlier. The change was made from 5 p.m. to 3 p.m.
“Our paper will continue to hit the streets on Wednesday mornings and subscribers will continue to get their paper on schedule,” Star-Herald General Manager Cindi Compton said.
“We ask for your patience as we go through the technical tasks and hiccups that come along with changing printers.”
Deadlines for editorial submissions and paid advertisements, including classifieds must be submitted by 5 p.m. on Monday.

– Tiffany Tierra Fletcher, 20, was arrested for first offense shoplifting on M.L.K. Drive by Capt. Herbert Dew. -
City considers using service to find retailers
With the current economy and the merger of Merchants and Farmers Bank and Renasant Bank, Kosciusko Mayor Jimmy Cockroft presented the idea of hiring a firm to aid in the recruitment of retailers during the board of aldermen meeting at city hall May 7.
