The Attala County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a vandalism case at McAdams High School.
Sheriff William Lee said deputies were called to the school last Wednesday where they found three window broken out.
Lee said they found several large rocks, a beer bottle and a large stick inside the classroom.
Lee said there were no witnesses or suspects in the case. Anyone with information about the vandalism case should call the Attala County Sheriff’s Department at 662-289-5556.
In other matters handled by the sheriff’s department:
• Deputies responded to a call of disturbing the peace in McCool on 411 South. After arriving on the scene, deputies arrested Sky Howell on an outstanding warrant of petit larceny.
• James Wilson of Sydney, Miss., was driving east on Miss. Hwy. 14 in a Ford F-250 with a four-wheeler strapped in the back. Lee said the straps came loose and the four-wheeler rolled out of the truck and struck a road sign and knocked the sign down.
• While on routine patrol, deputy Keith Cummings arrested Otis L. Shine, 53, on charges of public drunk. Lee said Shine was found in his car in the ditch on Hwy. 12 near County Road 4167.
• Deputies received a phone call of a truck without a license plate. The truck was found in a ditch on Airport Road and the driver, Jericho Jerez, 24, showed a strong odor of alcohol. Jerez was taken back to the sheriff’s department where he showed DUI.
• Deputies responded to a call at the home of Scotty Cullman, on an attempted break-in. Lee said Cullman had left his daughter home alone and while he was gone, the daughter reported that someone tried to break into the house.
• Deputies received a call from Angele Dempsey on County Road 2120 that someone had cut the tires on her car. Lee said there was a suspect but no arrests had been made.
• Deputies responded to a call on County Road 2275 where a truck driver with a load of logs had overturned in his 1999 Mac truck. The driver told deputies that he had met another car on the road and both tried to give the other more room and the trailer on the Mac dropped off the road and turned over.
• Lee said a Mrs. Kess, was traveling south on Hwy. 43 when her 2002 Ford Taurus accidentally ran off the road and flipped several times.
