Attala Sheriff's Department finds cocaine in residence

By Leslie N. Dees

A frantic phone call lead the Attala County Sheriff’s Department to arrest a man on possession of crack cocaine on April 7.

Sheriff William Lee said the call came into the department that a house was being broken into on Attala County Road 4216 or Sand Road.

Lee said they received a second call from the residence and a woman was hollering.

However, upon arrival, Lee said there was no woman just a man.

Lee said they found Ronald Hall of Illinois at the residence.

He was acting suspicious and upon entering the house we smelled an odor of crack cocaine, Lee said.

Lee said Hall was searched and found to have crack cocaine in his possession as well as a pipe.

“We found more cocaine on a chest of drawers in the home,” Lee said.

The woman who had made the phone calls had left the residence and the ACSD verified that she was in good condition.

On April 10, Andrew Hollman reported go-cart parts were stolen off of his Drake Street property in Ethel.

Lee said the matter is under investigation and there is a juvenile suspect.
