Kosy golfers take two wins
KOSCIUSKO — The Kosciusko High School golf team carded a 313 at Red Bud Springs Golf Course on Thursday to claim its own invitational by a whopping 24 strokes over runner-up Grenada and four other teams.
William Chadick fired a 74 and Kirk Stonestreet a 75 to lead the Whippets. Derek Roos carded an 80 and Austin Terrell an 84.
Forest was third with a 348, while Pearl was fourth (353), Ridgeland fifth (370) and Winona sixth (388). Forest's Brandon Moore had a 72 to take medalist honors.
Kosy won a six-team event at Ridgeland last Tuesday, by firing a 303 to take a one-stroke win over cleveland.
Holden Singletary shot a 70 to lead the Whippets, while Terrell and Stonestreet each had 77s and Roos shot a 79.

McCain not focused on Kosciusko's ranking
There may have been a lot of excitement in Kosciusko on Monday because of the Whippets being ranked No. 4 in the state in Class 4A by the Jackson Clarion-Ledger newspaper, but it wasn't coming from the KHS coaching staff.
