MACJC Softball tourney begins today
The MACJC State Softball Tournament is set to begin today at the campus of Copiah-Lincoln Community College in Wesson.
Holmes Community College narrowly missed making the eight-team event, being edged out of Northeast after losing to Northwest 3-1, 2-1 in its last doubleheader of the season.
The single-elimination event gets started at noon with host Co-Lin taking on Northeast, followed by a 2 p.m. contest between East Central and Northwest. At 4 p.m. Pearl River plays Itawamba and at 6 p.m. it’s Gulf Coast and East Mississippi in the day’s finale.
The semifinals are set for noon and 2 p.m. on Saturday, with the championships game scheduled for 4 p.m.
