Old Dominion School will play a full schedule of eight-man football during the 2009 season.
The private school, now housed at the former site of East Holmes Academy near West, is not a full member of the Mississippi Private School Association, but will be playing a 10-game MPSA schedule.
Head football coach Shane Zavala said an average of 14 players have been out for spring practice, but hopes that number will increase to 17 or 18 by the time fall practice begins in August.
ODS will play a home-and-away round-robin schedule with Calvary Christian (Meridian), Calhoun, Central (Macon), Kemper and Faith (Tupelo). The Eagles open the season on Aug. 21 in Meridian against Calvary, with the ODS home opener being Aug. 28 against Calhoun.
