The Kosciusko High School golf team posted a 322 during the first day of the MHSAA Class 4A State Golf tournament in Amory on Tuesday, to finish the first 18 holes in third place in the 18-team event.
New Albany leads with a 303, followed by Aberdeen with a 313.
The second round of the 36-hole event was set to take place at River Birch Golf Course on Wednesday. William Chadick shot a 77 on the first day, while Derek Roos had an 80, followed by Holden Singletary with an 82., Austin Terrell with an 83 and Kirk Stonestreet with an 87.

Sniper rifle purchased for KPD
At the request of Kosciusko Police Chief R.J. Adams, the Kosciusko Board of Aldermen approved the purchase of a sniper rifle for the department during the May 1 board meeting.

Attala School board hires staff for next school year
