Reception tonight for new OWB&G Club director
The Oprah Winfrey Boys & Girls Club newly appointed director will be honored with a reception tonight from 5 to 7 p.m. at the club on Knox Road.
Ison Harris, 40, of Indianapolis, Ind., was the unit director at the Wheeler Boys & Girls Club for almost nine years. He started at Wheeler as a volunteer in 1997 and founded “Sports of the Future,” youth program to promote sportsmanship and faith.
He has worked with youth for the past 13 years volunteering with different organizations throughout Indianapolis.
He has a bachelor’s degree in communications from Mississippi College and presently completing master’s degree in psychology from Martin University in Indianapolis.
The community is invited to come and meet Harris and his wife, Stacy, as well as take a tour of the club and all its ammenities.
