County incident briefs: Disturbance call leads to wanted man


While responding to a disturbance call on Saturday, the Attala County Sherrif’s Department found a wanted man.

Sheriff William Lee said Beverly Jackson reported her son, Micheal, was being unrully.

By the time a deputy arrived, Lee said Michael had left for his grandmother’s house.

It was discovered that there was a warrant out for his arrest in Greenwood and he was held for Leflore County.



Stolen items

A deer camp was hit by a thief in Attala County.

Lee reports that Jimmy Bryan’s utility trailer was taken from the hunting camp on Attala County Road 4116. The trailer is worth $500.

Earl Dickerson reported his property was broken into and five-gallons of gas was taken on Wednesday, June 17. There is a suspect.



Stolen vehicle found

On June 14, Shequitta Melton reported her Ford Tarus was stolen from Highway 14 W. The car, worth $9,000, was later found.
