On Monday, Clifton Groves, 34, pleaded guilty to aggravated assault and received eight years in prison for throwing rubbing alcohol on his wife, Ilona, and setting her on fire Sept. 2 at their home on Highway 429 in Sallis.
He will also have four years supervised probation once his jail time is complete.
Other pleas
– Corey Harris, Demetrius Winters and Demetrius Harmon pleaded guilty to burglary of a dwelling and got four years in prison with three years probation for their roles in the break-in of the living quarters next to Horne’s Grocery in Sallis.
–Van Ora Edmondson Jr., 27, will have to be on probation for five years for possession of marijuana.
–Steven Moudy, 29, will serve two years and six months for his role in the burglary of Pick-n-Pay and two years and six months probation.
