Jail site preparation ‘rolling’

Jail site

KOSCIUSKO — At Monday morning’s short meeting of the Attala County Board of Supervisors, County Engineer Christian Gardner, gave a report on the progress of several road projects underway.

Gardner also told the board that “everything’s rolling” at the site of the proposed  new Attala County Jail with the bid opening in mid-December. He said there had been a number of calls from contractors apparently interested in bidding on the site preparation and construction of the jail in the West Jefferson Street area of Kosciusko.

Steve Zea, Kosciusko-Attala Development Corporation CEO/President, invited supervisors to a Job Fair planning meeting, 10-11 a.m. on Nov. 27. The Job Fair is scheduled for February, 2013.

County offices will be closed Nov. 22 and 23 for the Thanksgiving holiday.
