The Kosciusko Lions Club has launched its annual Christmas Basket fund drive with plans to distribute 240 baskets of food to needy Attala County families.
Justin Develin, chairman, said funds are now being accepted along with applications for recipients. Those wishing to apply for a basket may contact the RSVP office at 289-6964.
The RSVP began taking applications Monday and will continue through Dec. 5.
Baskets, valued at $100 each, will contain all the makings for a holiday meal along with enough staple groceries to be used in following weeks, according to Develin.
Distribution of baskets will be made on Wednesday, Dec. 12.
Persons wishing to make a contribution to the fund may contact Justin Develin or other Lions Club members. Donations may also be mailed to Christmas Basket Fund, Kosciusko Lions Club, P.O. Box 179, Kosciusko, MS 39090.
