Barry Ware’s murder trial set for August

KOSCIUSKO — A trial date has been set for a Sallis man accused of murder. Attala County Sheriff Tim Nail said Barry Ware will go on trial August 12.

Ware along with Frankie Barber,  was charged with the murder following the January 7, 2012, shooting of Cedric Montae Sharkey, 24, of Sallis, off of Attala County Road 4106.

No trial date has been set for Barber.

Sharkey wrecked the car, left the vehicle, and fled into the woods. Barber and Ware chased him on foot and shots were fired. Sharkey’s body was found with a shot in the chest area.

Those entering guilty pleas on February 26 were:

– Jennifer Lee Hoffman, five years probation, malicious mischief.

– Torrence Allen, 10 years with eight years post-release supervision and restitution, grand larceny.

–Tamekia Latasha Buchanan, three years probation and fees and fines, credit card fraud.

–Bobby McCool, two years with five years post-release supervision, burglary of a building other than a dwelling.

–Douglass Truss, eight years with five years post-release supervision, fees and fines, possession of cocaine.

–Deanna Bailey, non-adjudicated status for three years and fees and fines, burglary of a building other than a dwelling.

–Angela Diane Crosby, non-adjudicated status for three years and fines and fees, identity fraud.

–Stephen D. Hutchison, five years, felony fleeing.

–Justin Nabors, five years with three years post-release supervision, possession of methamphetamine.

– Christopher Stevenson, three years and fees and fines, possession of marijuana.
