Search underway for Kosy superintendent
The search is underway to find a new superintendent for the Kosciusko School District.
The Kosciusko Board of Trustees has partnered up with the Mississippi School Boards Association’s Superintendent Search Service to find its next leader. MSBA will be accepting applications for the district until April 19. See job enformation here.
Applicants must have at the minimum a Master’s Degree or higher from an accredited college or university, but an earned doctorate is preferred. They also must have a proven track record of moving a school to an ‘A’ or ‘B’.
Current superintendent Gina Smith will remain in the position through June 30 and then been released from her contract. The Board is expected to have the new superintendent in place by July 1.
The MSBA Superintendent Search Service is directed by MSBA Executive Director, Dr. Michael W. Waldrop, and coordinated by former longtime college administrator and school board member, Dr. E. Harold Fisher. Fisher is former president of the National School Boards Association and of the Mississippi School Boards Association. He also is a retired college president, and consultant to the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS). Denotris Jackson, MSBA Assistant Executive Director and former president of the Mississippi School Boards Association and Clinton Public School District board of trustees, also serves as a member of the superintendent search team.
