KOSCIUSKO —
Willard Russell Covington Sr., 93, of Dermott, AR was born in Bailey, MS and was a World War II veteran.
He began his career in the soft drink business working in Kosciusko and Greenville. His second career was with a Western Auto Store in Monticello, AR, serving 25 years. He resided in Dermott after retiring.
Survivors include daughters, Linda Howard of Ridgeland, Cheryl Climer of Franklin, TN and son, Russ Covington of Knoxville, TN; grandchildren, Lisa Petree, Trey Howard, Kate Askew, Cole Covington, Conner Covington, Annie Ling; 12 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews; longtime companion, Jane Adams of Dermott, AR; sisters Hazel Chaney of Kansas City, MO, Mary Chaney of Ocean Springs, Clydine White of Monroe, LA and Patsy Flowers of Philadelphia; brother, Tommy Covington of Natchitoches, LA.
He is preceded in death by his wife Annie Lee Covington; brother, Orville Covington; sisters, Almeta Snowden, Bernice Walker, Claire Stephens.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, Oct. 23, at 11 a.m. with services at 12 at Jordan Funeral Home. Burial will be in Parkway Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or charity of choice.
